We use aircraft grade 6061 T-6 . The 6000 series of aluminum is particularly suitable for heat treatment due to the inclusion of both magnesium and silicon. T6 is solution heat treated and artificially aged to produce an alloy that provides increased strength. More information on this type of aluminum here.
